Our Process
At the Hive, our process begins with you and your design needs. After making a design request, we will hold a brief meeting, either digital or direct, to discuss your project’s scope and timeline. Your project will be assigned to a dedicated student designer who will work within the desired timeline, provide digital updates on the design process, and deliver your product on schedule.
The Hive Director, Sara Wichtendahl, an experienced MFA graphic designer and BW professor, supervises and mentors each student designer.
Looking for a way to get your small business off the ground? Hive can help give your brand the design it needs without breaking the bank.

Have a need for Digital Marketing?
Contact our Digital Marketing Clinic
The Digital Marketing Clinic (DMC) at BW matches highly skilled students to organizations to develop strategies that involve search engine optimization, content strategy, social media, web development, email marketing, marketing automation, and other key tactics. The DMC offers various levels of service, from short-term assistance with ongoing operations to an intern (and internship supervision) to a full-semester strategy project involving a team of students as well as outsourced, long-term support. The program’s fees and deliverables are customized to each client’s specific needs, and students are matched based on the skill sets required to meet those needs. DMC projects have been used to help clients launch or re-launch a service offering, promote a new website, understand and outpace the digital presence of chief competitors, and revitalize social media efforts.
